Quilting Tour USA 2012

Paducah Quilting Fair

24 April-May 17, 2012

2012 will be my 20th year of taking tours around the world, with a majority of them to the US focusing on a Quilt Fair.

So I am very excited to offer you this tour to Paducah, Kentucky to enjoy the Quilt Show, Quilt Museum and Hancock’s Fabric Shop. Paducah is a lovely town, easy to get around and everyone seems to be involved in the quilt fair and enthusiastic to ensure you have a memorable time.

Four full days will ensure you will enjoy the show and the town at a leisurely pace.

After the show we will travel across Kentucky to Pleasant Hill Shaker Village. Staying overnight in the village, here you will learn about the lifestyle of the Shaker People.

The next day we will arrive in Charlottesville, Virginia for the night where the next day we will visit Thomas Jefferson’s Home and Gardens. After our visit we will enjoy lunch at The Historic Michie Tavern.

Visiting Colonial Williamsburg will be a wonderful experience to see the lifestyle of the people going about their daily lives as they were in the 18th century.

Three days in Washington DC has so much to offer the tourist - the numerous war memorials and monuments of their famous early presidents, the Smithsonian Museums and Daughters of the American Revolution.

From Washington we will visit the Baltimore Museum of Art en route to Wilmington, Delaware. Winterthur House and Gardens and Longwood Gardens will be brilliant in their spring colours.

In Lancaster County we will enjoy the hospitality of the Amish people for a few days, learning about their lifestyle seeing their quilts and other crafts. A dinner in an Amish home and visit many fabric and quilt shops and the Amish Quilt Museum in Lancaster.

On to New York - with three and a half days to explore this exciting city. Starting with a city tour with a local guide and Sunday morning visiting a church in Harlem to enjoy the famous Harlem Gospel Singers. Shopping, sightseeing, museums, galleries, Central Park, The Empire State Building, The Theatre and probably more shopping!!!

What a great way to finish this 24-day tour of great surprises!!
